Visit and Event Options

Visiting the campus is the best way to see if Winthrop is the right fit for you!  At this time, we are offering virtual options, as well as in person, socially distanced options for you to learn more about Winthrop University.  Be sure to check back periodically to learn more about our upcoming events!

Spring Events - In Person Events

    Weekday In Person Visits

    • In-person sessions will include an admissions presentation given by an admissions counselor, followed by a student-led tour of campus.
    • Campus tours will not enter campus buildings and will maintain social distancing.

    Spring Open House - 

    Description:  Join us for our Spring Open House created for all high school prospective students (seniors, juniors, and sophomores) to provide an in-depth view of academic and campus life at Winthrop University. While on campus, you will have the opportunity to meet Winthrop faculty, staff, and students;explore your intended major; and tour our campus.

    College of Visual & Performing Arts Open House - 

    Description:  The College of Visual & Performing Arts invites you to join them Friday afternoon to learn about Arts at Winthrop! During this event you will have the opportunity to meeting students and faculty within your future major and tour the campus and arts facilities. Schedule details will be available after registration.

    First Look Friday - 

    Description: 1st Look Friday provides a glimpse into the life of a Winthrop student.  The visit includes a tour of campus, lunch in the cafeteria, and sitting in on  a class.  Students also have opportunities to speak with current students, faculty, and their personal admissions counselor to learn more about the Winthrop experience.

    Description: Winthrop Admissions comes to you! This event will allow you to have one onone time with your Admissions counselor and meet your future fellow Eagles to learnabout their journey here at Winthrop University.

    Multicultural Day -

    Description: Here at Winthrop University, we make sure all students feel welcome and comfortable. We celebrate cultural diversity, and our Office of Diversity & Student Engagement provides students with several avenues through which they can enhance their knowledge about other cultures and the diversity issues that individuals belonging to such cultures face in today's society. Join us and hear directly from our current Eagles about their Winthrop experience.

    STEM Tours

    Interested in STEM fields?  Talk with faculty and students and get an up-close look at the cutting-edge facilities and terrific, hands-on learning opportunities that prepare Winthrop STEM students to excel in the workforce and in graduate and professional degree programs (MS, PhD, MD, etc.).

    Winthrop Day - April 2, 2022

    Winthrop Day is all about celebrating our Admitted Eagles! All 2022 Admitted students can attend this celebration and learn more about life at Winthrop. At this event students and families can connect with currentstudents, faculty, and staff.

     

 

Spring Virtual Events

    Virtual Weekday Visits

    Offered Tuesday & Thursday at 5:00 p.m.

    • Online information sessions include an overview of Winthrop’s admissions process, campus life, and financial aid opportunities.
    • Students will have an opportunity to send in questions during the session and to take our virtual tour immediately afterward.

    Registration is required in order to participate in these information sessions. Login information will be sent upon registration.

    Virtual Transfer Tuesdays 

    Transfer Tuesday information sessions are intended to simplify the transfer process and make an easy transition to Winthrop University. These evening sessions provide students with information about the transfer application process, transfer credit policies, and available scholarships. Please note that we do not provide pre-evaluation of transfer credit.

    Virtual Chat with an Eagle:  Wednesdays @ 6:30 p.m.

    To hear what it's really like as a Winthrop Eagle, sign up for a time to chat with one of our current students and learn more about life as an Eagle.

    Admitted Student Week - March 28 - April 1, 2022

    In preperation of Winthrop Day, we are celebrating with our future Eagle with virtual sessions they can attend from home!  These events will offer future Eagles a chance toget to know current students and their future classmates. They will also hear directly fromResidence Life and FYE about what they can look forward to for next Fall.


Group Visits

    We are now open for group visits!   Group Visits can be requested during our weekday hours, and they are open to Elementary, Middle, and High School age students. Please complete the form below to request a group visit with us and we will reach out to confirm date and times.

    Please keep in mind group visits are for groups larger than 10.

Out of an abundance of caution regarding COVID-19, Winthrop has adjusted our Admissions Events. Updated regulations include reduced capacity for each event, reduced number of guests, mandatory masks for all visitors and staff, increases hand sanitizer, and we ask that all visitors reschedule their visit with us if they are experiencing any covid-related symptoms.
